Strip pattern

  1. In this strip pattern (if we say the mountains are symmetrical) there is vertical reflection between each triangle mountain, through the middle red line and circle. There is no horizontal reflection or half -turn. This is a pma2 pattern.

  2. This strip pattern has vertical symmetry, but does not have horizontal symmetry and there is no glide reflection. If one were to reflect it, assuming it was perfectly symmetrical, the line would go through the top red line and the circle beneath it to the place where the mountains meet at the base. Because of these characteristics, it is a pm11 pattern.
