Fibonacci number Golden ratio

  1. The Fibonacci sequence can be found in every aspect of this logo – from the bite on the apple's side to the perfect placement of the leaf. Here is a much more extensive break-down of the Fibonacci numbers in Apple logos and products: http://paulmmartinblog.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/apple-and-the-golden-ratio/

That Apple should obsess over the Fibonacci sequence is unsurprising: if it appeals to the human concept of perfection and ideal beauty, why wouldn't they push for their products to adhere to it? I wonder if other companies focus on the Fibonacci sequence as well, and whether that approach to product design is directly related to their success. I also find it doubly interesting that the logo is based on something found in nature, and may have Fibonacci sequences of its own; do the proportions match between the two? Is the Apple logo something that can never be found in nature?

  2. Also, it's more than just Fibonacci numbers, it's the Golden Mean. Because the two so are so closely related, I forgot to specify :)
